Dato' Zamzuri started his career as an Assistant Director at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in 1995. He then joined Administrative & Diplomatic Service and later appointed as Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs. In 2003, he joined the Ministry of Finance (MOF) as the Assistant Secretary in the Administration Division and was thereafter promoted to Principal Assistant Director in the Budget Management Division in 2003. He was promoted to several positions throughout his service in the Budget Management Division under MOF. He then promoted as the Deputy Director, General Service Sector, National Budget Office, MOF, a position he held from August 2010 until November 2018.
In 2019, he served as the Under Secretary, Government Procurement Division, MOF, Malaysia. He was then promoted to Deputy Secretary General (Finance) Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia in 2022 to March 2023.
Dato' Zamzuri is currently the Deputy Secretary General (Policy) in MOF.
