We refer to the article entitled “MACC Investigating MAHB” appearing in The Edge Malaysia (pages 14 and 16), the week of 19 July 2021 - 25 July 2021 issue.

 

In particular, we refer to the first sentence in first paragraph of the article which read “The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is understood to have visited airport operator Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB)”. In this regard, we wish to confirm that MACC has recently visited our headquarters and requested for information and documentation relating to the COVID-19 Private Screening and Testing contract award for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The Company has given full cooperation and complied with all MACC requirements, and there has been no further enquiry from MACC.

 

We also wish to confirm there is no enquiry from MACC relating to our Automated People Mover (APM) Replacement tender, the process of which has not been concluded.

On 19 July 2021, the Company issued a press statement in response to the said article. A copy of the statement is attached to this announcement.

 

We wish to assert that the Company’s procurement processes for all its tenders were conducted in strict compliance with our procurement standard operating procedures (SOPs) with the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) serving as additional safeguard to provide another layer of control within the Company’s procurement processes. The Company’s procurement processes have also achieved ISO 37001:2016 certification for adopting ABMS.
